Scheduled for completion in 2009. This project includes major utility repairs/ replacements including replacement of gas mains, separation of sanitary and storm sewer systems, and new signalization at intersections. Rt. 1 & 9 is being widened to include 11’ to 12’ lanes as opposed to the existing substandard lane widths.

The existing pavement suffered from significant deterioration, therefore the concrete base course is undergoing major repair work and the asphalt leveling and surface courses are being completely replaced. A new ramp has been constructed directing traffic from Rt. 1 & 9 NB to Granton Avenue.

This required blasting to remove several thousand cubic yards of rock. As all site soils are considered contaminated, this project requires the disposal of many thousands of cubic yards of soil in an environmentally-friendly manner. In addition, a retaining wall is scheduled for replacement and two landscape walls have been built.
